Biomeridian Assessment

Meridian Stress Assessment is used in integrative healthcare practices to measure electrical characteristics at meridian points throughout the body.

Based on the research of Dr. Reinhold Voll, the technology has been used in Germany since the 1940's; it is used extensively in Europe and has become more popular in the USA in the last 20 years.

The Meridian Stress Assessment System (MSAS) manufactured by BioMeridian, Inc. is the world’s premier testing tool for measuring the skin resistance and conductivity along meridians.

MSAS is designed to measure 58 different electrical "circuits" in the body related to specific organs and systems. An extremely low electrical current (1.4-2.4 volts) is applied sequentially to the meridian points on the hands and feet. How much of that electricity passes through each meridian is measured, a method of evaluating the amount of impedance in each meridian system.

Measurements are then compared against a database of over 1.5 million tests to identify areas of the body that have moved away from the norm. The software creates a graphic display for practitioners to evaluate, and for patients to view, helping to better understand the energetic balances of the body.

This is needle-free and a non-invasive way of gaining valuable information about the body’s vital functions. It is a repeatable way of determining an excess or deficiency of energy flow, showing the ability of the body organ systems to impede the flow of electrical current, and qualities of that resistance.

Meridian Stress Assessment can be used in many ways. MSAS provides information about patterns of stress in the body for practitioners to consider in suggesting treatments to bring these energetic disturbances back into balance.

The Biomeridian assessment is safe, non-invasive and painless. It can be used on persons of all ages and does not require any special preparation.

The manufacturer of the device, BioMeridian Inc (USA), is registered with the US FDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) and the MSAS Professional is listed under a 510 (K) – the classification for medical devices. In addition, the MSAS Professional has received CE mark approval for the European Union and is considered a Class IIa medical device.

BioMeridian are the world's largest manufacturer of Meridian Stress Assessment instrumentation. These devices are used by integrative health care practitioners around the world to assess functional health.
